You Might Want to Try Eyebrow Tinting

You may have heard people talk about eyebrow tinting, but are not sure what it is. You may be interested in learning more, especially if you have thin, light eyebrows that blend in too much to be noticeable. Brow tinting is a service offered in many salons. Brow tinting is a semi-permanent cosmetic procedure. Eyebrow tinting actually makes your brows darker. If you have decent eyebrow color, but usually fill in with a brow pencil, then tinting could also be an option for you. Think of all the time you’ll save in the morning doing your makeup!

Brow tinting does allow for color choices. You might find a shade you like, but if you aren’t sure, just ask for guidance from your esthetician. Your only want to go 1 or 2 shades off your normal hair color in order for your brows to have a natural look. Do not use black unless you have black hair, since it won’t look good on anyone else. Along the same lines, don’t use a blond shade unless you are a natural blond with very fair skin.

If you have gray hair, you can tint your brows a grayish shade. If you dye your hair and want to change the color of your brows, then you can use a tint in a complimentary color. If you change your hair color dramatically then you may want to think about doing the eyebrows, too. If you want to give your eyebrows more definition and thickness, then tinting might be for you.

Have the salon do a patch test before you have an appointment for the actual brow tinting. It should only take around 25 to 30 minutes for your appointment in the salon. You will be good for 4-6 weeks before you would need another appointment.

Your eyes will be protected by a patch or mask during your visit. Petroleum jelly or another type of lubricant will be put on your skin for protection. The tinting is usually applied with a disposable applicator and a safe, vegetable based product is used in the stain itself. You will need to wait while the application dries. Water and plain soap will be used to wipe off any excess tinting, and then you are good to go.
