Ombre Makeup Trends

When you hear Ombre you probably think of hair color, but this is also a trend in makeup. From eyes to lips, there is an ombre beauty look for you.

You may not think of ombre lip color, but it is on point this season. Two-toned lips can be quite dramatic or subtly stylish.

Rich plum is a popular color right now, but think about a dark orchid lipstick used a liner around the outside of your lips. Use a lip brush for the easiest application.  Fill in the lips with a bright contrasting color like dark fuchsia. After applying the lip color, press your lips together. Blend the shades together with the lip brush. For the finishing touch add some clear shiny gloss to the center of the lips. This is bold and subtle at the same time and will stand out.

For ombre eyes the most important thing to remember is to blend. You can choose jewel tones or different shades of the same color. Always start with the darkest color first. Use a sponge-tipped applicator and trace the color on the lash line. Keep blending out and up toward your temples. A blending brush that is dome-shaped will work well. Use a lighter and brighter shade next just above the darker color. Go up to the crease of your lid with this second color. The lightest color will then be applied below the brow. Blend these with your brush for the ombre look. Use black mascara and keep any other makeup you use simple to let your eyes be the center of attention.

Texture and color are the key to having the ombre look on your cheeks. Use a neutral matte powder on the hollows of your cheekbones. Blend this matte powder on the apples of your checks as well. Use a gold tinted highlighting shade right on the apples of your cheeks to add that contrast.
