Natural Hair Masks

Posted on October 17, 2017 by Christopher Noland in Blog

Hair masks can do wonders for your locks, but they don’t have to take tons of time or effort. Natural hair masks can be made at home with ingredients you probably have on hand. Try one of these masks the next time you want to give your hair some extra TLC.

Coconut oil is terrific for hair masks and worth buying if you don’t already have some at home. Coconut oil will give your hair some much needed moisture and really add some luster and shine. You can make a simple mask with just a tablespoon of coconut oil mixed with a tablespoon of honey. This mixture does need to be heated up slightly, so you can mix it together in a small pot. Just heat on low heat until the mixture melts. Let cool for 5 minutes or so, and then you can use it.

Apply the mixture on your hair, starting from the crown of your head down to the tips. For best results, use a shower cap to cover your head while you wait 15-20 minutes. Rinse your hair out with warm water, dry, and you are ready to go!

Have a lot of frizz? Avocado works wonders to fight frizz and adds the moisture that your hair needs. An extra bonus to using an avocado mask is that it will make your hair shinier. Just mash up an avocado in a bowl. Add two eggs, one Tbsp coconut oil, two eggs and one Tbsp honey. Apply the mask beginning at the ends and work your way up to the roots. Leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes, and then use lukewarm water to rinse out completely.

For an itchy or dry scalp, try some brown sugar. This mask is super easy to make- just mix two Tbsp brown sugar and one Tbsp tablespoon olive oil together.  You want to use this mask all over your head, starting at the top. Just wait 15 minutes, and then rinse.
