Funky Makeup

You see the models on the catwalk in the outrageous fashion and funky makeup. It seems chic there, but can you pull off a funky makeup look in the real world? Yes, you can. These are some daring, but not too crazy, makeup looks that you can actually try at home.

Cat eyes are generally tame, but you can definitely up the wow factor. Use a dark black eye liner that is very wide. Contrast with a metallic silver or gold liner on the lower lash line. Top off with thick false eyelashes and you have Big Kitty eyes.

Speaking of lashes, bold is beautiful. Even if you don’t want to do false eyelashes, you can go with a thick and bold mascara. There are even colored mascaras out there, but those tend to look better if you have darker lashes.

Go for a bold mouth. There are some pretty bright and unusual colors out there for lips right now. From neon pinks and greens, to orange/red and purples, there is a bright color for everyone. You won’t know until you try it!

Glitter is good. You may not be on stage in Vegas, but a kick up your makeup look with some glitter. Use a base eye shadow in a more neutral grey or navy shade, and add some glitter in the same color family. This will blend in a bit more, but still draw attention to your eyes.

Red, really? Red is not normally a good choice, but if it is mixed with a purplish or plum color you can actually get a pretty blend that is very different. Use a chunky kohl-type liner to add some extra pop to this style. Everyone at the party will be wondering who this mysterious woman is.

If you have never tried a true Red lip color, then now is the time. You may think it is not for you, but you really can’t go wrong with a classic fire engine red lipstick. Go for the movie star glam and look fabulous.
