Get Rid of the Frizz
Are you tired of flyaways and frizziness? You want your hair to look great, and get those frizzies under control. There are many layers to your hair, but the cause of frizziness is the outer layer of hair. Let’s look at some ways to get rid of the frizz.
- Don’t use products that contain alcohol. The premium products you can purchase in the salon will usually have much less alcohol than grocery store brands.
- Relaxers and hair straighteners can make hair brittle and tend to create flyaway strands. Use these sparingly.
- Buy detangling spray for children. This detangling spray works well, especially when it is humid. You don’t need to use a lot- just a spritz on your palm can be used to make your hair smooth.
- Watch the tools you use. Flat irons and curling irons are great, but can definitely contribute to flyaway hair strands. Make sure your blow dryer has a diffuser on it, too. Try only blowing the roots, to give your hair a boost without the frizz.
- When you are using the blow dryer, use a round brush. The hair cuticles will lie flatter with the round brush.
- When you have a bad hair day, spray your hair with water to help reduce frizz. You can also use wet fingertips on your strands before you brush or comb out.
- Mix some water with a small amount of conditioner and apply to the very ends of your hair. Use a conditioner with protein, which will give you shinier and more manageable hair.
- Use only oils that are natural to moisturize. Your hair won’t look clean if you use synthetics. You can also try some creams that are made to prevent frizz.
- Don’t brush your hair after it is dry. If you brush after drying, your outer layer of hair will lift up, contributing to more frizzies.
As always, talk to your stylist when you visit the hair salon. When you work together, you will find a way to solve the frizz, and come out with sleek and beautiful hair.
