Finding Shoes that Fit
A good pair of shoes is a treasure. Being stylish and comfortable is as good as it gets. When you go shoe shopping you may not be able to find the fit you need. The size of your foot can also change as you get older. Your shoe size can also increase after going through pregnancy. Use the following tips to get the best shoe fit.
Your feet will be biggest at the end of the day, so it is the best time to get an accurate measurement of your feet.
Each foot can be a little different in size. Make sure you use the largest size when buying a new pair of shoes.
Pay attention to the general outline of your feet, and try to find a shoe that outlines your foot shape as close as you can.
Just like with clothing, each shoe manufacturer can have different sizing. You can’t just go by the size number, so make sure to always, always try the shoes on before you purchase. Sometimes it may not be the size you usually wear, but the fit and comfort are what matters, not the shoe size.
When you are standing up, there should be at least one-half inch between the end of the shoes and the longest toe on each foot.
The widest part of the shoe should comfortably fit the ball of your foot.
Don’t buy shoes that are too tight since the majority of shoes do not stretch out. You can use shoe stretchers sometimes, but if the shoes feel tight initially, they will most likely stay that way. You don’t want to buy shoes and have them sit in your closet, so make sure they are comfortable when you try them on.
Walk around the store to try out the shoes. It is good to walk around on different types of flooring, such as carpeting or hard floors.
If the heels of the shoe slip up and down as you walk, it is not a good fit, and that can cause blisters.
