Although much of the U.S. has started off Fall with warm weather, there are a lot of new fashion trends for fall that embrace the traditional cool weather of the season.
An interesting trend is fur. There is real fur, but plenty of faux fur for the animal lovers out there. There is patterned fur in feminine prints and bright colors as well.
Many times we see ruffles on the runway, but they are usually big, bulky and not really practical. The surprise this year is that ruffles could actually be worn. The ruffles are loose and paired with structured tops and bottoms. The ruffles stay feminine, even if they are large.
The tans have it. You will find this hue in all types of clothing this season. From soft camel coats to light khaki skirts, there is a tan shade for everyone. This is a great classic color so you can definitely add some new pieces to your wardrobe and you can mix and match with your existing clothing.
Metallics are raging on the runway, and not just for party outfits. Gold is the most popular color you will see right now. You will find feminine and flowing skirts as well as cute structured blouses and tops.
Turtlenecks come into fashion once in a while, but this year you will find them being used a little differently. There are turtlenecks under dresses, and jumpers. You can pair the turtlenecks with lighter dresses and take some of your summer dresses right into fall, and even winter.
For outerwear, there are lots of bomber jackets with shearling linings. Think stylish, casual and warm. Overcoats are plaid all over. Most of the plaid styles are not too bold, though. The plaid patterns this season are more subtle and subdued.
