Have you heard of eyeliner stacking yet? You might think it is too complicated to do on your own, but you really can! You do need a steady hand and just a few products to make it happen.
The first thing you need to do is get some liquid or gel liners. This is a precision look, so you need eyeliners that can be applied crisply and cleanly. If you love your pencil liner you can use it on the bottom, but it won’t work well for the top of the lid. A small liner brush that is bent will really help you get the stacked look.
You want to have 2 colors of eyeliner- one that is darker than the other. The two lines should be distinct. You can also go bolder and choose a neutral with a flashier shade. You can get creative and have fun with this look.
Makeup primer is really important to pull off this style. The primer gives you a smooth, blank canvas to start with. A primer specifically for your eyelids is great, but regular primer will also work. Don’t skip this step!
If you have any discoloration or splotches on your lids, just run a bit of concealer across them. You want the liner to be the star of the show and everything else to fade into the background.
Start with your top lash line. Start with the darkest color. Begin in the center and bring it out towards your outer eye. Go thicker as you move out. You can now go from the center inwards toward the inner eye, and make the line thinner as you go in. You can do a winged or cat-eye look if you want to in this step.
Take the lighter color and apply a precise line just above the darker liner. You want the lines to be touching so there is no space in between them. If you want to fix any error just use the small angled brush dipped in makeup remover and try again.
