Wouldn’t it be great if using and applying eyeliner was easier? We’ve got you covered with some great eyeliner hacks you might not know.
Unless you have a steady hand, liquid liners can be tough to apply easily. If you love the look of a liquid liner, just start with a pencil liner. Use that as a guide and then use the liquid liner on top of that. This gives you the look you love without the mistakes!
Have you ever tried eyeshadow as a liner? Shadows can work great, but you do need to apply them properly. Use a liner brush and make sure to dampen it before dipping in the shadow. The little bit of moisture on the brush darkens the pigment in the shadow and will look more like a regular eye liner.
If you love gel eyeliners you can actually make your own! Take your favorite Kohl eye liner and a lighter. Hold the pencil tip under the flame for just a few seconds. You can test it out on the back of your hand, but this will give you the gel look.
To make your colored liner last longer (and set better, too) just lightly dust some eye shadow over the liner. Just use a similar shade so it blends in.
Not all of us can draw a perfectly straight line, but if you can still get a sharp look. Draw a rough line first. Take a cotton swab and put a bit of petroleum jelly on the end. Go over the rough line you drew to clean the line up. You will be amazed at what a crisp and defined line you end up with.
Use thicker eyeliner if your lids are not well defined. Draw a line in an arch that is thick. You want to be able to see the eyeliner when your eyes are open, not just closed.
If you are going for a more natural look, don’t think you can’t use eyeliner. Just apply underneath the lashes instead of on top of them. Dot the liner in between the lashes to get a complete line. This is a little lighter of a look, but still defines the eyes well.
